Position your crashpad carefully. The mat must cover the most likely landing zone, directly below and behind the climber based on the movement’s trajectory. A poorly placed pad creates a false sense of security without actually protecting you. Stack multiple crashpads, especially on high climbing or sloped landings, one mat is never enough. Uneven ground, roots and hollows all require wider coverage. Know your limits, an exposed climbing spot beyond your ability level remains dangerous even with a crashpad. Always assess the height and difficulty before committing to a move.
